Experts in accessing problem scenarios and providing the best solutions

Case Study #1:

Client - A national home mortgage financial service corporation

Overview - Industry wide financial crisis, forced closure of corporation. Initially, they contracted a local moving and storage company to move and hold all of their IT assets including thousands of PC, notebook, monitors, phones and networking items, until they could liquidate the assets. This logistics company used over 700 pallets to hold the equipment and applied ongoing storage fees for each one as well as charges for each time they were requested to move a pallet and scan out items as the client sold them. The customer soon realized that the expensive services of the storage company would eat away at their liquidation revenues but weren't sure of the best way to get out of the current arrangement. This was especially difficult since they already owed a large debt for storage charges that they couldn't obtain the funds to pay because of red tape within their own company. They were upside down and needed a solution.

HiTech Assets Solution - One of our executives flew to the storage site, reviewed all the variables and made a proposal to the mortgage company which was accepted. HiTech warehouse personnel were sent to the site and spent a week consolidating the original 700+ poorly wrapped pallets that had been packaged by the moving company (almost three times the number necessary) to an appropriate count of 250 pallets. Next, HiTech Assets cut through the red tape and paid all of their $85,000.00 debt in storage fees, effectively releasing all the client assets. The HiTech personnel loaded the equipment on 11 semi trucks and shipped it back to our warehouse for proper data security, auditing, repair and liquidation based on a mutually agreed gross revenue share contract. HiTech was able to include all data wiping, auditing and disposal fees at no charge within this agreement because of the high proportion of marketable items.

Result - HiTech recovered $1,484,000.00 for the client in 4 months without the client being charged a single moving or storage fee.

Working to take client relationships to the next level with customized service plans

Case Study #2:

Client - Fortune 500 Energy Corporation

Overview - This client was internally handing all surplus IT needs (including data destruction and asset liquidation). After doing the data wiping themselves, they liquidated the assets though a blind bid process to multiple participants. Over the years, HiTech Assets had won more of the client's blind bids than all competitor companies combined. This was a strong demonstration of our industry dominance in value recovery. The client decided to simplify and outsource their end of life IT process. They sent their RFP to eighteen different ITAD companies and asked each to propose a total IT retirement solution from the packaging of loose equipment at client site, to transport, through test/audit, data destruction and finally liquidation.

HiTech Assets Solution - We offered a comprehensive custom revenue share solution to meet their specific needs for logistics, data/asset security, environmental safety, communications and reporting.

Result - HiTech was awarded the contract over the other seventeen IT disposition companies. This account has developed into a tremendous working relationship with HiTech receiving high marks by the customer's formal grading system which they use to rate all service providers. The HiTech and client teams meet quarterly to refine systems, discuss our working relationship and constantly improve it.

Creative value recovery turns client liabilities into assets

Case Study #3:

Client - Nationwide retail organization

Overview - Client contacted HiTech Assets to find out if we could help with a seemingly expensive IT disposal issue. This client had taken out of service approximately 4000 units of older kiosks and other point of sale gear. Every other company that they had offered the equipment to had wanted to charge the client for disposal. The best offer they had to that point was to pay a disposal fee totaling $280,000 for someone to take all 4000 units off their hands and recycle.

HiTech Assets Solution - We went to client's site to examine the product being disposed of and in this situation brought a sample kiosk back to our facility to be dismantled. Our versatile markets enabled us to get creative with the parts of these obsolete machines and actually generate positive revenue for the client.

Result - HiTech Assets actually paid an average of $26 per unit and we absorbed all labor and transportation costs. Instead of being charged $280,000 by our competitors, the customer realizes $104,000.00 of positive revenue from HiTech Assets. This was a bottom line impact of $384,000 in value recovery that we produced for this client.

***** These case studies demonstrate the HiTech creativity, professional capability and commitment to performance that we will bring to every opportunity we are given. We hope that you will give us a chance to apply the same enthusiasm and expertise to your surplus asset needs.
