Oklahoma City, OK – (July 27-28, 2011) HiTech Assets Inc. President
Lane Epperson participated in the 2011 Congressional Fly-in on July 27th.
The purpose of this annual Congressional Fly-in is to raise awareness of the
scrap recycling industry and to advance legislative issues with members of
Congress. Executives from hundreds of leading scrap recycling companies took to
the halls of Congress to visit members of Congress in support of legislation
that reflects the scrap recycling industry’s agenda on key legislative and
regulatory issues. Epperson was also invited to participate in the Joint Senate
and House Recycling Caucus Briefing on July 28th that explored the
critical connection among recycling, the economy and the environment.
Recycling is one of the most
visible facets of America’s
environmental, energy and sustainability policies. In addition to being an
established aspect of our country’s environmental practices, recycling also
creates good-paying jobs, stimulates the U.S. economy and helps balance the
nation’s trade deficit.
