HiTech Assets Executives participate in
Educational Workshops at the 2011 E-Scrap Conference.
Oklahoma City, OK – (October 4, 2011) As part of HiTech Assets Inc.’s
ongoing commitment to help other companies improve their operations and to
raise the bar for best practices across the industry, President Lane Epperson
and SVP of Marketing and Business Development Rike Sandlin participated in educational
workshops at the 2011 E-Scrap Conference in Orlando, Florida. Epperson organized
and moderated the session on “Achieving Certified Electronics Recycler®” as a
group of industry leaders shared tips, experiences and expert advice to
organizations that were currently in the process of seeking R2 and RIOS
certification. Some of the topics discussed in this session were R2 (Responsible
Recycling), RIOS (Recycling Industry Operating Standard), and Downstream Due
Diligence as well as lessons learned from panel experts.
Sandlin organized and participated as a presenter in the session
entitled “Safety or Not at all”. The purpose of this session was to show
attendees how to identify weaknesses in their health and safety programs and
give practical guidance on how to correct issues. Sandlin discussed safety from
the recycler’s perspective and encouraged the attendees to develop a culture of
safety within their companies. Other
industry experts discussed managing safe and legal transport and processing of
potentially hazardous materials such as batteries and mercury, as well as
resources available from ISRI to help recyclers navigate the often confusing
process of establishing and maintaining effective health and safety programs.
HiTech Assets, Inc., headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is one
of the leading “Certified Electronics Recyclers” and Information Technology
Asset Disposition (ITAD) providers in the nation.
