HITECH ASSETS, INC. GOES TO WASHINGTON D.C.
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (February 22, 2011) - HiTech Assets, Inc. President, Lane Epperson will attend a meeting on February 24, 2011, with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Washington DC.
The EPA has invited a handful of leading Electronic Recyclers to participate in an Inter-Agency Task Force on Electronics Stewardship.
The goal of this meeting is to initiate a dialogue with the electronics industry concerning potential improvements to the life-cycle management of electronic products throughout their useful life and the responsible management of used electronics. This effort will supplement the activities of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Electronic Stewardship which is working to address President Obama’s November 15, 2010 Proclamation, to prepare a national strategy for responsible electronic stewardship, including improvements to Federal procedures for managing electronic products. The responsible management of used electronics is a priority for EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson and the Administration, particularly addressing used electronics that are discarded in developing countries where improper disposal can threaten local people and the environment. The Inter-Agency Task Force on Electronics Stewardship, is co-chaired by the EPA, the General Services Administration (GSA) and the Council of Environmental Quality (CEQ).
