Congressman Tom Cole visits HiTech Assets

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – November 5, 2010: This past July, Congressman Tom Cole, visited the Oklahoma City HiTech Assets, Inc. facility. Cole serves on the United States Appropriations Committee and is a member of the Interior & Environment subcommittee.
As a part of this committee, Congressman Cole took the opportunity to visit HiTech Assets and observe the environmental stewardship efforts of one of Oklahoma’s leading electronics recyclers. Cole also wanted to understand the challenges electronic recyclers face and get HiTech’s perspective on how current and future legislation could possibly affect the industry.
HiTech co-founders, Jimmy Gent and Lane Epperson met with Cole to discuss the electronics industry, environmental concerns and how HiTech provides services in an environmentally friendly manner.
“We are grateful to Congressman Cole for visiting our facility and learning more about our industry and our company,” Epperson said. “We felt that he was genuinely interested in the work we do as well as the benefits electronics recycling brings to the economy and to the environment.’
Cole received a guided tour through the facility and recycling processes. As a leading electronics recycler, it is necessary for this company to inform government officials on the day-to-day challenges recyclers face in this business and the value positive legislation can have to this industry and the environment.
